We organize educational tours to Ethiopia for studies related to nursing and healthcare. We invite students from all ages to come to Ethiopia and participate in a program that will introduce you to the local Nursing and Healthcare sector. We will visit hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, relevant NGOs and projects, and much more. You will meet Ethiopian medical professionals who will explain about their work and share their experiences and visions. The tour will be led by an English speaking professional tour leader with a medical background, and by local nursing school students. You will get the chance to interact with local students and share knowledge and experiences.

The program starts in the capital Addis Ababa where we get a profound insight in the Ethiopian healthcare sector. After about a week we leave the city and head south into the Ethiopian Rift Valley to the places of Hawassa and Arba Minch. We spend some time in rural areas, far away from the modern world.

The purpose of this tour is to offer international students the opportunity to develop an insight in their future profession from the context of a developing country. Ethiopia belongs to the poorest countries in the world and the healthcare sector functions totally different as in the Western World. Doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals have much less means to their disposal and have to rely more on their creativity and practical skills. Next to beneficial aspects for the international participants, the aim is to contribute to development of the local healthcare sector. We aim to build bridges between relevant networks and establish an exchange of knowledge and experience. We also encourage the participants to collect materials and generate financial means to donate to our local partners.

The program of the tour lasts 15 days. On request we can also organize programs of 9 days.
